Laguna Golf Phuket is the resort course of the Laguna Phuket complex — Asia's first integrated destination resort, set along Bang Tao Beach in Cherngtalay, Thalang. Originally built on reclaimed tin mine land in 1992, the course was substantially redesigned in 2014 and now plays as a modern, USGA-specification layout that has hosted Asian Tour events, most recently in 2021. The course occupies 6,756 yards at the unusual par of 71, giving it a scoring character distinct from the more conventional par-72 courses elsewhere on the island. The resort setting means Laguna Golf Phuket offers comprehensive amenities — multiple hotels within walking distance, spa facilities, beach access, and a range of dining options — that no other Phuket golf course can match. It is the natural choice for golfers who want their golf integrated with a broader resort holiday rather than a dedicated golf trip.

Layout & playing experience
The 18-hole, par-71 layout winds through the Laguna Phuket estate, blending parkland-style fairways with the lagoons and water features that give the resort its character. The redesigned course has USGA-specification greens — faster and more precise than many Thai resort courses — which rewards proper approach work and short-game skill. Several holes play along or across the resort's internal water bodies, and the backdrop shifts between views of the resort villas, tropical gardens, and glimpses of Bang Tao Bay on the western holes. The course is undulating without being severe; caddies are polished and accustomed to the resort's international clientele. At par 71, the course plays one stroke harder on the card than most competitors, which catches some visitors off guard in their scoring expectations. The 2014 redesign improved drainage significantly, making the course more playable year-round, including during the wet season.
Tips & what to know before you go
Laguna Golf Phuket is busiest in the morning during high season (November–March) when resort guests combine golf with beach days. Afternoon tee times are quieter and — while hotter between March and May — offer a less pressured round. The premium high-season green fee reflects the resort infrastructure as much as the golf course itself; if budget is a priority, the low season rate is considerably more accessible. Cart rental is optional, and the relatively flat terrain makes a caddie-walk round comfortable. Book directly through the Laguna Golf Phuket website for the most current rates and availability; several rates on aggregator sites may not reflect seasonal pricing accurately. Dress code is enforced — collared shirts and no metal spikes.
Location & getting there
Laguna Golf Phuket is located within the Laguna Phuket Resort complex in Cherngtalay, Thalang, on the northwest coast of Phuket — approximately 20 km from Phuket International Airport (25–30 minutes by car) and around 30 minutes from Patong Beach. All visitors from Bangkok fly (approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to Phuket International). Guests staying at any of the Laguna Phuket hotels can reach the course on foot or by resort buggy. Visitors from other Phuket hotels should arrange a Grab or hotel transfer.
