Denis Griffiths — the same architect behind Phoenix Gold Golf Club Pattaya — applied a similar mountain-terrain philosophy to Soi Dao: the course uses elevation changes and natural highland features to create a visually dramatic playing environment unlike anything in the flatter Chonburi courses. The par-3 14th hole is the signature — positioned to take advantage of the surrounding landscape and regarded as one of the more photographed holes in the region. Water hazards and bunkers are strategically placed rather than decorative, and the 7,144-yard length means long hitters can reach for the card scores, while the highland conditions (cooler temperatures, occasional mist, firmer turf) affect ball performance in ways that don't apply on lowland resort courses. The 395-acre site gives the layout plenty of space to breathe.
