Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain Golf Club is widely regarded as the premier course in Hua Hin and one of the standout layouts in Southeast Asia. Designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design and opened in 2007, it occupies a dramatic natural valley 12 kilometres west of Hua Hin, framed by the distinctive black granite outcrops that give the club its name. A nine-hole West Course added in 2016 brought the total to 27 holes. The course's reputation is well-documented: Golf Digest has included it in its list of the top 100 courses outside the United States every year since 2012, and it has hosted multiple Asian Tour events as well as the Royal Trophy. At 4,500 THB for an 18-hole green fee, it sits at the premium end of the Hua Hin market, a price point the course consistently justifies through conditioning, course variety, and on-site resort facilities including accommodation, spa, fitness centre, and multiple restaurants.

Palm Hills Golf Club & Residence

Palm Hills Golf Club & Residence holds the distinction of being the first international-standard golf course in Hua Hin, opening in 1992 under a design by Max Wexler. Located in Cha-am, Phetchaburi — approximately 2 kilometres from Hua Hin Airport — the 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches to 6,892 yards from the championship tees and is integrated into a residential resort development. The course occupies elevated terrain between the highway and the hills, which Wexler used to create a layout with genuine changes in elevation and distant sea views from the back nine. At a green fee of 2,500 THB (caddie compulsory at 350 THB), Palm Hills is competitively priced among the Hua Hin area's established courses. Facilities include a fitness centre, restaurants, sauna, squash courts, snooker, swimming pool, and tennis courts.
