The Vintage Club carries a distinction shared by only a handful of Thai courses: it was designed by a single internationally renowned architect whose sole Thailand commission this remains. American architect Arthur Hills — responsible for dozens of acclaimed US designs — created The Vintage Club in Samut Prakan in 1996, blending his characteristic emphasis on naturalistic bunkering, strategic par-4 routing, and landscape preservation. The result is a course that retains marshes, reeds, and seasonal flora that soften the playing corridors and create a genuine countryside feel despite being 48 km from central Bangkok. The Tudor English-style clubhouse adds a unique visual character, and the on-site Japanese restaurant has a strong local following. The 350-yard grass driving range is one of the better warm-up facilities in the Bangkok south corridor.

Layout & playing experience
Hills' design philosophy at The Vintage Club prioritises visual beauty and strategic variety over pure difficulty. The course stretches 6,952 yards from the back tees across gently rolling terrain, with marsh, reed beds, and multi-coloured bougainvillea framing many fairways. Water comes into play on numerous holes but is generally placed to frame landing zones rather than force high-risk carries, making the course accessible to mid and high handicappers while still offering genuine challenge from the back tees. The par-3 2nd, par-5 10th, and par-4 13th are frequently cited as signature holes. Bunkering follows Hills' naturalistic style — irregular shapes and placement that look organic rather than artificial. Greens roll at a medium pace with mild undulation, favouring a standard approach game. The overall experience rewards accuracy over length and repays multiple visits with new strategic discoveries. Non-metal spikes are required. Weekend rounds carry a 500 THB surcharge for non-playing followers.
