Lotus Valley Golf Resort holds a unique distinction in Thai golf: it is the only Gary Player-designed course in Thailand. Located in Chachoengsao province east of Bangkok — and around 45 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport — the resort-style course was originally opened in 1988 and later renovated by designers John Morrow and Craig Bertram. Gary Player's Scottish-influenced design ethos is visible throughout: fairways and fringes are kept closely cut, water comes into play on almost every hole, and the risk/reward propositions are clearly defined. The course won 'Best Value for Money Experience' at the Asian Golf Awards in 2015, and that reputation has endured: green fees remain moderate while the quality of the design and conditioning remains high. Lotus Valley operates a cashless policy on the course.

Layout & playing experience
Player's philosophy at Lotus Valley centres on water as the primary strategic element — the natural lakes and channels of the Chachoengsao countryside are woven into nearly every hole, creating a succession of carry decisions from tee and approach. The two nine-hole loops each have their own character: the front nine is more open and invites aggressive play, while the back nine tightens through denser vegetation with narrower corridors. At 7,015 yards from the championship tees, the course is genuinely long, but the manageable terrain and absence of severe elevation changes means it plays true to its yardage. Player's traditional close-cut rough around greens rewards a running approach game, especially in the dry season when fairways firm up. Greens are medium-paced, true, and tend to have subtle undulation rather than dramatic slopes. Pace of play is generally brisk given the course's relatively quiet positioning east of the city. Caddies and carts are compulsory.
Tips & what to know before you go
Book tee times in advance (1–2 days weekday, 3–5 days weekend). Green fees are 2,500 THB weekday and 3,500 THB weekend, plus mandatory caddie (400 THB) and cart (700 THB), totalling approximately 3,600–4,600 THB all-in. The cashless card system on the course (register for drinks and balls) is convenient. Club hire at 1,300 THB is reasonably priced. The course's east Bangkok location means traffic can be unpredictable on the Motorway 7 corridor — budget extra time on weekends. Contact: +66 38 835 555 or visit lotusvalley.co.th. The facility offers accommodation if you want to make a full resort stay.
