Wangjuntr Golf Park is an ambitious 54-hole golf resort in Wang Chan District, Rayong Province, opened in 2002 and designed by Thai architect Prasobchai Kasemsant. The facility comprises three 18-hole layouts — the Valley Course (7,173 yards, par 72), the Highland Course (7,641 yards, par 72, claimed to be among the longest golf courses in Thailand), and the Jungle Course — each built with an unusual twin-green design modelled on Japanese course conventions, offering two distinct putting surfaces per hole for additional variety. The complex is set within a former rubber plantation in the hills above Rayong, with mature trees, water features, and natural terrain providing the framework for each course. The site functions partly as an open wildlife sanctuary, with animals inhabiting the grounds naturally. Foreigners pay 3,650 THB all-inclusive (green fee, caddie, and cart). Closed Mondays.

Layout & playing experience

The Highland Course is Wangjuntr's flagship layout, stretching to 7,641 yards from the championship tees. Four par-3s range from 150 to 253 yards; four par-5s reach up to 690 yards, demanding controlled power off the tee and consistent long-iron play into well-defended greens. The Valley Course, at 7,173 yards, offers five par-3s and five par-5s — an unusual distribution that delivers more variety over the round. Both courses use the twin-green design: each hole has two distinct putting surfaces, so the course plays differently depending on which green is in play that day. This Japanese-style innovation is rare in Thailand and adds genuine replay value. The forested hillside terrain creates natural elevation changes not found on the flat coastal courses more typical of Pattaya-region golf. The Jungle Course adds a third 18 holes through denser vegetation. Caddie and cart are compulsory and bundled into the published rate.

Tips & what to know before you go

The 3,650 THB all-in foreigner rate covers green fee, caddie, and cart — no additional charges except for an optional tip (150–200 THB is standard). Thai nationals and foreigners presenting valid ID pay significantly less (1,150 THB weekday / 1,750 THB weekend). Bring extra golf balls — the Highland and Jungle courses can be punishing for wayward shots. Wildlife including wild boar can affect fairway conditions; caddies will advise. The course is closed on Mondays. Early tee times are essential — Wangjuntr is 60–90 minutes from central Pattaya and 100 minutes from Bangkok, so an afternoon start leaves insufficient time for a full 18.

Location & getting there

Wangjuntr Golf Park is located at Wang Chan District, Rayong Province, approximately 130 km southeast of central Bangkok and 60–90 minutes from downtown Pattaya. The drive from Bangkok takes approximately 100 minutes via the Eastern Seaboard Motorway (Highway 7) toward Rayong, then inland toward Wang Chan. The course is remote by Pattaya-area standards; a pre-arranged transfer, rental car, or private driver is strongly recommended. No practical public transport serves the location.
