Thailand Entry Requirements 2026 — Quick Guide for Golfers

Thailand's entry requirements for golf tourists in 2026 are straightforward — there are no COVID-era restrictions, no golf-specific permits, and no special customs requirements for personal-use clubs. The main thing to complete before flying is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), which replaced the old paper TM6 form in May 2025.

Disclaimer:

Entry requirements can change without notice. Always verify current rules with the Thai Immigration Bureau (immigration.go.th) or your nearest Thai embassy before travel.

Pre-Flight Checklist

1. Valid passport — Thai immigration recommends at least 6 months validity beyond your intended departure date 2. Onward or return ticket — evidence of onward travel is standard practice at immigration 3. Accommodation details — hotel name and address for your first night 4. Proof of funds — carry a bank card and some cash; specific amounts are at the officer's discretion 5. Travel / health insurance — not mandatory but strongly recommended, especially for sports activities 6. TDAC completed — Thailand Digital Arrival Card must be submitted online within 72 hours before your flight at tdac.immigration.go.th (free; generates a QR code for immigration)

What's Changed Since COVID

Thailand removed all pandemic-era entry restrictions in 2022. As of 2026: no vaccination proof required, no pre-arrival health declarations, no testing on arrival. The main procedural change since COVID is the TDAC replacing the paper TM6 arrival card from May 2025.

Golf Equipment at Customs

Travelling through Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) with a full set of clubs is routine — no special declaration or permit is required for personal-use equipment. If you are bringing brand-new clubs in retail packaging or high-value items, declare them to be safe. Renting at the course is a straightforward alternative; rental sets (including Callaway) are available at most Bangkok-area courses and at LENGOLF.

Health and Travel Insurance

Not a mandatory entry requirement, but strongly recommended. Check that your policy covers golf-related injuries and includes medical evacuation if you are travelling from a distant country.
