For weekday rounds at most public courses, 1–3 days in advance is usually sufficient. For weekends, book 1–2 weeks ahead. During peak season (December–February), allow 2–4 weeks — especially for popular courses.
The General Rule of Thumb
- Weekdays: 1–3 days in advance is usually sufficient at most public courses
- Weekends (Saturday/Sunday): Book 1–2 weeks ahead to secure your preferred tee time
- Peak season (December–February): Allow 2–4 weeks, especially for popular or well-regarded courses
- Premium or private-access courses: Book as early as possible — 4+ weeks is not unreasonable during busy periods
The best tee times — generally 6:00 am to 9:00 am — go earliest. If you want an early start, add at least a few extra days to whatever lead time applies.
Why Weekends Fill Up Faster
Bangkok has a large and active local golf community. On Saturdays and Sundays, resident golfers, golf societies, and corporate groups compete for the same tee sheets as visiting players. Many courses offer weekend membership deals that give local players priority booking. Prime weekend slots can be gone 7–10 days out at the most popular venues.
If your schedule is flexible, shifting your round to Monday or Tuesday often means better availability, faster pace of play, and — at some courses — lower green fees.
Peak Season: Book Before You Arrive (December–February)
Thailand's cool, dry season draws the largest number of international visitors, and golf traffic rises sharply with them. During this window, it is strongly advisable to book tee times before you board your flight to Bangkok. Waiting until you arrive can leave you with limited choices or inconvenient tee times.
Same-Day and Walk-In Bookings
Walk-in or same-day bookings are sometimes possible, particularly on weekday mornings when a slot opens due to a cancellation. However, relying on this approach is risky — you may end up with a tee time much later than wanted, or no availability at all. Treat same-day play as a bonus, not a plan.
Quick Booking Tips
1. Book weekday rounds to maximise flexibility and reduce lead times 2. Use a reputable booking platform — see our guide to booking golf tee times in Thailand 3. Prioritise early tee times — if you want 7:00 am, book earlier than you think you need to 4. Confirm your booking by phone or email 24–48 hours before your round, especially during peak season 5. Research courses first — some venues require more advance planning than others
